Thread: What is MaxPermSize

  1. #1

    Default What is MaxPermSize

    In all the Pentaho information I can find, memory issues talk about:

    Code:
    PENTAHO_DI_JAVA_OPTIONS="-Xmx512m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m".
    Everywhere it talks about increasing the Java Heap Size by changing the -Xmx parameter. But what is MaxPermSize? I can't find an explanation for this.

    Thanks. I've already read that. I do not see therein an explanation of what MaxPermSize is.

    Permanent Space : It's the third part of the memory. Here are stored classes, methods etc.
    • -XX:PermSize: initial value
    • -XX:MaxPermSize: max value

    From that webpage.
