Thread: Multiple Inputs in a single transformation

Default Multiple Inputs in a single transformation

Is it possible to combine 2 different input streams? I have a string coming out of a Java Script and a column value from a Table input step. These are completely different values without any prior connection . I need to combine them as Source1|Source2 to use in downstream steps. I tried concat, join but was not able to achieve what I need.

    Yes, it's possible.

If the values had no relation before, how do you want to connect them?

    Source 1:
    Field 1
    1
    2
    3
    4

    Source 2:
    Field 2
    A
    B
    C
    D

    Should the output be like:
    Field 1 | Field 2
    1 | A
    1 | B
    1 | C
    1 | D
    2 | A
    ...
    4 | D

If so, take a look at the Cartesian Join step.

Thanks Gutlez, that is good news. I want the output to be:

    Field 1 | Field 2
    1 | A
    2 | B
    3 | C
    4 | D

I have tried the Cartesian join step but that is not the output I am looking for.

In that case introduce rownumbers and use Merge Join.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
