Default Plans to incorporate a fix for Transformation Executor?

Currently, (with PDI 5.0.1-stable), Transformation Executor doesn't work. I did some Googling and found the following:

JIRA item which identifies this as an issue: http://jira.pentaho.com/browse/PDI-11082
Github Pull Request with a fix: https://github.com/pentaho/pentaho-kettle/pull/220

What I don't see, however, is any release plan for a patch or an update to fix this.

Can anybody provide an update or insight?

    Cheers,
    Noah

If you want an update on that specific bug, you need to create an account for jira and "follow" that bug.
Or periodically log in and check it manually.

The bug itself no longer has progress to be made (Do they really provide much outside of "Fixed"?)

I'm asking about when the next version will be released, or when a patch will be out for 5.0.1 to fix this functionality

If you're using CE, there likely won't be a patch to 5.0.1
You can download from github the 5.0.x or 5.1.x source and compile it.
There will be a 5.1.x CE, but it will come out when it's ready, and not before. We (CE users) often get about 1 month notice before it comes out.

If you are using EE, contact support, and they can build & deliver it.

I was hoping this wasn't the case. I'm not sure I have the experience to confidently deploy my own compiled version into our production environment. I'll mess around with it, though.
