Default [Pentaho 5.1] BA server broken after restart of baserver process

    Hello,

I was configuring Pentaho after the installation on a machine running Red Hat. I was experiencing some poor performances of the BA server, thus, I decided to log out and then restart the process by using the ctlscript (or something similar) in the pentaho folder.

After starting again the server, I found that I cannot access the BA server anymore. In the pentaho.log file I found the following error trace:

    http://pastebin.com/MrCnkK0c

Now, when I try to connect to the ba server through the browser, nothing happens until the browser timeout expires and an error message appears.
I tried to kill all processes related to Pentaho and start again the server without any success. I also tried to change the port where the tomcat server is listening to and now I get a 404 message from Tomcat (like this http://kb.globalscape.com/attachment...omcatError.PNG)

I hope somebody could help me in troubleshooting this...

    Thanks in advance!

Buried deep inside the log, it says:

The repository home /pentaho/pentaho5/server/biserver-ee/pentaho-solutions/system/jackrabbit/repository appears to be in use since the file named .lock is locked by another process.

You can use "lsof" to get the PID of the process that has that file open.

Check that you actually killed all of these old tomcat processes, and if you have, and the system still complains then delete the ".lock" file manually.

It seems like some process was somehow killed before deleting the .lock file. I had to move it in another location, but now the server does not complete the boot process, and it does not print any exception too. The last part of the catalina.out file contains this:

    http://pastebin.com/3YBckJtu

I have another Red Hat machine with Pentaho and it works fine with the older version pentaho-business-analytics-5.0.7.1-x64.bin. It seems like the boot process is having some problems because as you can see some parts are missing... The catalina.out log of the healthy server is the following:

    http://pastebin.com/AmKrYpCT

    Thank you in advance

At the end I uninstalled the newest 5.1 version and reinstalled the 5.0.7.1. I have no issues now (but, of course, this is not a solution)
