    The target file also have some data when the transformation failed , does anyone know the reason?

    It's the very nature of a Kettle transformation, that your data rows are processed in a streaming fashion. Each row processed by one step is handed down to the next steps. Due to buffering you will find, that not all rows may be processed for output at the time an error aborts the transformation. In an All or Nothing approach you can delete partial output on the job level.
