    Default Pentaho BI server 5.3 - expand Public folder

    Hi all,

    I have upgraded our reporting portal from 4.8 to 5.3 and it is amazing. I really appreciate new look, administration and possibility to migrate custom dashboards easily.

    This is what I am having problems with:
    Is there a way to expand Public folder by default after click on Browse files? Home folder is expanded by default, nevertheless the Public field is collapsed.

    Thank you
    Magdalena

    Hi all,

    I have found following reported bug http://jira.pentaho.com/browse/BISERVER-12015. Unfortunately the "bug" is still not resolved . Do you know any workaround? I have checked page source and there is a <code>class="folder first open"</code> for the item. Any idea, where to find a related file?

    Thank you
    Magdalena

    Hi all,

    I am trying to establish the same thing: Expand the public folder by default and not the home folder.
    Anyone got more information regarding this?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

    I was facing the same thing and found a workaround which is pretty easy.

    tomcat\webapps\pentaho\mantle\browser\js\browser.js

    Find this

    Code:
      FileBrowser.redraw = function (initialPath, initialFile) {    var myself = this;
        myself.fileBrowserModel = new FileBrowserModel({
          spinConfig: spin,
          openFileHandler: myself.openFileHandler,
          showHiddenFiles: myself.showHiddenFiles,
          showDescriptions: myself.showDescriptions,
          canDownload: myself.canDownload,
          canPublish: myself.canPublish,
          startFolder: initialPath,
          startFile: initialFile
        });
    And replace with

    Code:
      FileBrowser.redraw = function (initialPath, initialFile) {    var myself = this;
         initialPath = "/public";
        myself.fileBrowserModel = new FileBrowserModel({
          spinConfig: spin,
          openFileHandler: myself.openFileHandler,
          showHiddenFiles: myself.showHiddenFiles,
          showDescriptions: myself.showDescriptions,
          canDownload: myself.canDownload,
          canPublish: myself.canPublish,
          startFolder: initialPath,
          startFile: initialFile
        });
    Did the trick with me!
