Reporting tools in Pentaho Community Edition

Hello Everyone,

I am new to pentaho Community Edition.
I have installed Pentaho Community Edition.
The user console works fine!!!
However, now I wanted to know how can we start basic Adhoc Reporting in Pentaho Community Edition (CE) version.
How are the objects developed/created and how do we make it available for users?
My backend Database is Oracle 11gR2 and wanted to connect the HR Database to do reporting in Pentaho Community Edition.
Any help/suggestion given is highly appreciated.

If Yes, then how do i make the measures and dimension objects (column mappings) available.
Request to please help as this is on an urgent basis.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to Pentaho Community Edition.
I have installed Pentaho Community Edition (BI Server 5.4.0.1-130).
Now I wanted start creating Grid, Charts,etc. reporting through Pentaho User Console.
Also, how to give users the power of AdHoc reporting (grids, cross tabbing and charts with drill down and other capabilities).
Request all you experts to let me know how can I achieve this.
Any help is highly appreciated!!!

So Saiku is the way for reporting in Pentaho Community Edition (I have biserver-ce-5.4.0.1-130).
I did see the plug-in for Saiku, but how do I get the measures and dimension available for my users.
I mean where do I design and publish the same, so through Saiku my users can do basic reporting.

Hi Emicarnicero,

So through Pentaho Schema Workbench, we can create cubes or measures and dimensions.
Also is there a Pentaho Schema Workbench Community Edition that is available for download?
Will Saiku plugin pick up the cube so created?

You can download the Schema Workbench here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mond...kbench/3.10.0/
When you create a cube with the Schema Workbench and you publish it to the BI server you can run that cube with Saiku plugin

I did download the PSW (psw-ce-3.10.0.1-130) and was trying to create a basic cube.
As I create a ODBC connection and click on new Schema/MDX/JDBC, PSW freezes and stops completely.
Is there something that I am missing?
Please help!!!

Hey folks,

I was wondering why my cube aren't showing up in Saiku window.
Also when I publish the cube it just simply exports and doesnt ask me for any folder path.
There were some posts I read that it requires only JNDI or JDBC connection, is it true?
Why am I unable to locate the datasources.xml file anywhere in the BI Server folder?
The OLAP folder is also available?

Also can we have a single report from multiple data sources? (Like Data Federation)

Please do help!!! I have got multiple issues
