    Default Customer Sort List

    Hi All,

I can find sort rows in Pentaho, but it can only sort the Field by Ascending or Descending, is there a way to create a custom sort?

So you think there are 3 types of sorting: Ascending, Descending, Custom?

When sorting you establish a non-strict total order on a set of tuples (rows) through a binary (less-or-equal) relation.
You can tell Sort-Rows to emit rows in reverse order - that's "descending" for the math-no-thanks Kettle users.
You are not restricted to a single field as your sort criterium, though.
If you need to sort on derived values (e.g. checksum, hash) you must use a suitable step to provide a new field with that derived value.
It's still "Ascending" or "Descending" - tertium non datur.
    Think about it.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
