Default Fields from XML plus separate columns into a single row

    Hi,

    I'm totally new to ETLs.

If I have a database table that contains XML embedded in one field, what is the best way to extract that data along with other fields/columns.

    e.g.

Source table : ID, Date, XMLData
    Target table : ID, Date, value1_from_XMLDATA, value2_from_XMLData

I can get the ID and Date and put them into the target table.

And I can use "Get data from XML" to get values from the XML.

But what is the best way to combine/put both of these into the target table such that there is one row in the target table for every row in the source table, with some field/column values coming from columns in the source table and others from with in the XML in the XMLData column?

    Any help/tips much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Niall

    Default

    Sorry,

With some testing I've discovered that having a "Table Input" go to "Get data from XML" to "Table output" seems to allow me to achieve this.

It is much simpler than I expected - I thought "Get data from XML" would only pass on the fields I extracted.

    Thanks.
