Default Bug in Text File input at linux?

I develop with Spoon at Windows, but work on a Linux system.
I used Step 'Text file input' with 4 fields. My original file have only 2 fields that I want to read, so I set field 3 and 4 to to a default value.

    example.txt
    12,34
    56,78
    90,00

    defaults fields ABC and XYZ

    solution at client
    12,34,ABC,XYZ
    56,78,ABC,XYZ
    90,00,ABC,XYZ

    solution at linux
    12,34
    56,78
    90,00

is this a bug or didn't I understand the Text File Input step

I tried to reproduce this behavior, but without success.

Which version(s) of PDI are you using?

I never noticed the "default" option in Text File Input before, so perhaps you have a mismatch in versions.
The usual flow for having a file that is missing columns is to use the "Add Constants" step, rather than specifying a default for a non-existant column.

I use 5.4.0.0.128 and sure there is an default option, use the 'Fields TAB' http://wiki.pentaho.com/display/EAI/Text+File+Input

I tried to reproduce this behavior, but without success.

    pdi-ce-4.4.0-stable (with patches)
    java 1.7.0_79 (OpenJDK)
    ubuntu 14.04 LTS (x86_64)
on my old version, I also had no problems. Only with pdi 5.4 at Linux
