    Default Getting SYSDATE from Oracle

    Hi Team,

I am loading data from CSV file. I need to insert SYSDATE in one column along with data from the CSV file. I am trying with Table Input and using the SQL as "SELECT SYSDATE FROM DUAL". There is no error shown in the "Logging" tab but there is only one row generated and it shows Conversion error: null.

Attached screenshot showing Table Input and output generated with Conversion error: null.

    Appreciate if someone can help.

    Regards.. Jawed

Why are you using table input for sysdate?
If you want to add sysdate as extra column along with csv columns, just add get system info component and select value as sysdate variable(fixed) in system info component.

What I understand, get system info will give me the date from my local machine where pentaho is installed right. I want date from the database where i am loading the data.

The Table input cannot be in the stream like this. You need to make it standalone and join the data to the main stream (using a Merge join with no keys specified).

Those dates should be the same...
Remember, there's only one date and time that we're in, but many timezones.

PDI will honor your local workstation timezone, even if it asks the DB for the date.
