    Default pentaho carte slave server execution + not able to use variables after setting

    Hi Team,

    I am using PDI_6.0.1.0_386_x64 version of pentaho and I have configured a local carte server which is up and running.

    Job Description : start -> set_variables (transformation) -> Write To Log [refer attached image 0.jpg]

    set_variables (transformation) : reads database connection details from config.properties file and sets it to variables ${hostname}, ${database}, ${port}, ${username} so that it is accessible at root level by using Modified Javascript Step "setVariable(Key,Value,"r");" [refer attached image 4.jpg]

    Write To Log : prints data in the format "Database :- ${database}"

    config.properties content:
    hostname=localhost
    database=xe
    port=1521
    username=HR

    Issue Description :
    1. Local Execution : able to use the variable ${database} in Write to Log [results in attached image 1.jpg]
    2. Execute Remotely by selecting slave server name from drop down at run time : able to use the variable ${database} in Write to Log [results in attached image 2.jpg]
    3. By selecting Remote slave server name from drop down at in advance tab of the "Job entry details for this transformation" : NOT able to use the variable ${database} in Write to Log [results in attached image 3.jpg]

    Request you to advice on what changes are needed to make the 3rd scenario work?

    Regards,
    Malleshwara

    Do you have your property file on the remote server as well?
