    Default Spoon and AWS VPC

    Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a thread on these forums (or a tutorial elsewhere) that explains how to access an AWS VPC RDS environment using PDI (Spoon) run from your desktop?

    Thanks in advance!

RDS, which database? You need the hostname of the RDS. Port number (security groups needs to be opened) your machine should have access to that database, from your desktop. Then you can connect to the database. Should not be a problem. It's just a database - hostname - portnumber - databasename - user - password. and the SQL query.

Try to psping (windows tooltje with which you can poort ping the database ) or telnet.. I think you have a security policy implemented on the VPC. IF you have access to the AWS console you can check the policy rules implemented on the RDS, or ask your AWS administrator...
