    Default bring columns into one with nested if statement

    I have a table with the following columns:
    A B C D E NEW
    x x
    y y
    w w
    v v
    t t

    I want to populate all values for A until E in a single column. I prefer not to use a concatenate step.

    I tried the following in the formula step but it returns all fields blanks.

    if(ISBLANK([A]);[B];if(ISBLANK([B]);[C];if(ISBLANK([C]);[D];if(ISBLANK([D]);[E];""))))

    Where am I going wrong with this formula and can someone suggest a simpler way to do this?

    This looks like a denormalized form of (rownum, key, value), so we just can normalize it again.
