    Default Custom bar widths

    Hi All,

I have a quick question to which I think there should be an easy answer, I just can’t figure it out.

I have a simple horizontal bar chart with three bars. What I need to do is make one of the bars wider than the other two to show that it is a combination of the other two. I assume this would be an extension point that would allow me to do this, but I just can’t find it.

I would be extremely grateful if someone could point me in the right direction

    Thank you for the help

    Hi,

    it is possible.

You need to leave enough white space between categories for it to work.

Essentially, you need to specify the bar_width extension point.
Then, because this messes the positions of bars, you'll also need to specify the bar_left extension point.
Finally, because both of these extension points are locked, you'll need to apply the protovis changes direcly under a bar_call extension point context.

See this fiddle for an example: http://jsfiddle.net/duarteleao/6mxoho9v/.

    Cheers.
