Question Text File Input Mapped Network Drive

    Hi everyone!

Does anyone know how to access files on a password-secured network drive (on windows)?
FTP/SFTP must not be used for security reasons.

I used the "TextFile Input"-Step an tried to access the mapped network drives but pentaho ist not able to find them. Using the unc-path ist not an option, because i have to pass the credentials...
    I am on Pentaho 7.0

    Many thanks in advance!

I don't know how to do it myself but the reply in this old thread suggests you can use a shell script to open the folder first

SFTP, when configured correctly, is more secure than UNC.
You eliminate MITM attacks (UNC has no option for strict host-key checking) among other things.

The big thing with both is that you have to give up some security for the automation - a valid password is held in a file *somewhere*
If you are that concerned about security that SFTP cannot be used, you need to revisit your architecture.
