    Question Parse data

Hi, can anyone please assist me with this? I am green using Pentaho and trying to learn.

I have an excel field data is as follows:

    12-4
    1-10
    123-5
    45
    15 to 30

I want to retain the first characters before the "-", "to", and or " "

What is the best approach and how do i achieve this?

    Thank you in advance!

You can extract the leading part of a code using a regular expression.
