Navigate to your data-integration folder, among a lot of files, there should be a kitchen.sh (to run jobs) and a pan.sh (to run transformations)
    Then execute the following:
    Code:
    nohup sh pan.sh -file=/your/transformation/complete/path.ktr -logfile=/your/log/file.log &
If the file or log have an space in the path, you can encapsulate it between "":
    Code:
     nohup sh pan.sh -file="/your/transformation/complete/path.ktr" -logfile="/your/log/file.log" &
If the transformation has input parameters, you specify them:
    Code:
     nohup sh pan.sh -file=/your/transformation/complete/path.ktr -logfile=/your/log/file.log -param:param1=value1 -param:param2=value2 &
If you want to run a job, the proceed the same way, but using kitchen:
    Code:
     nohup sh kitchen.sh -file=/your/job/complete/path.kjb -logfile=/your/log/file.log &
    OS: Ubuntu 16.04 64 bits
    Java: Openjdk 1.8.0_131
    Pentaho 6.1 CE

... and if you are looking for an existing transformation to use, pick one from the Kettle samples folder.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
