    Default Replace null timestamp fields

    Hello,

I have a transformation that accepts a parameter of a timestamp with time zone default value of '2999-12-31 00:00:00 UTC'.

A 'table input' selects data, then there is a 'merge join' step using a left outer-join to gather non-required timestamp data to the stream.

Before the final 'table output' step I need to replace all null timestamp values with the parameter value that was passed in.

I cannot seem to find a way to do this. The 'if field is null' step seems like the obvious choice, but will only accept a format mask if I first convert the timestamp field to a date using the 'select values' step. However, once I convert to a date I lose the important time components of the data.

So how would you do this? Any help would be appreciated.

I feel lucky because I don't have any problem to provide a format for a timestamp field.
