For every spatial data type there is a textual representation, so: Yes, we can.

You can read spatial data via Table-Input and you can write such data via Execute-SQL-Script (or Execute-Row-SQL-Script).

Just asking: Are you aware of GeoKettle?

I m new to pentaho, i never worked with geokettle.

I have a database with geography field. I need to extract data from an xml file, and insert it into tbe database but in the xml they work with longitude and latitude. So i need to transform the data first

Geokettle should do the trick you think

You don't need GeoKettle for what you describe.
I just thought I should mention it.
