Default Pentaho Authentication using Third Party APIs

    Hello Folks,

We are trying to authenticate pentaho BI server with a third party APIs and want to set a session(authentication token) is it possible ? Please suggest your views.

Basically we have one application which is using api based authentication and a session token is generated show we want to authenticate same user with APIs to Pentaho BI server so that user can access his own reports and dashboards in pentaho. API call looks like below :

    https://<servername>//MobileProxy/JsonProxy?user=<username>&pass=<passwd>&callback=?

Please let us know if this could be possible with some customization.

Thank you so much for your response.

    Regards

    Nitesh

Pentaho uses Spring Security libraries, so it is possible to use your own authentication provider. But you will need a skilled developer with good knowledge of Spring Security and it will take some development, it's not just configuring a few property files.
Source: a colleague of mine is working on using JASIG CAS (a single sign-on solution) for Pentaho.
