    Default Not able to insert record to Hive

    Hi all, I am using Pentaho v7.1 in Centos 7 VM and MapR 5.20 in another Centos 7 VM.

    I am able to create Hive connection and create Hive table using "Execute SQL Script". However, I am not able to insert record to Hive table that I created.

    2018/01/04 17:02:41 - Table output.0 - Error inserting/updating row
    2018/01/04 17:02:41 - Table output.0 - Error while processing statement: FAILED: Execution Error, return code 1 from org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.mr.MapRedTask. User: node2 is not allowed to impersonate node2

    This is the error I got from Pentaho. P/S:Both the MapR VM and Pentaho VM has the same username: node2

    Default

    I am able to solve this by editing core-site.xml as followed and restarted the vm:

    <property>
    <name>hadoop.proxyuser.node2.hosts</name>
    <value>*</value>
    </property>

    <property>
    <name>hadoop.proxyuser.node2.groups</name>
    <value>*</value>
    </property>
