    Unhappy Problems running Jobs using Kitchen

    Hello,

    I've built the job using Spoon, and it's working fine. But when I run using the Kitchen.bat command, it seems that it will run fine, but it stops after printing the following lines:

    abr 17, 2018 6:55:07 PM org.apache.cxf.endpoint.ServerImpl initDestination
    INFO: Setting the server's publish address to be /lineage
    abr 17, 2018 6:55:07 PM org.apache.cxf.endpoint.ServerImpl initDestination
    INFO: Setting the server's publish address to be /i18n
    abr 17, 2018 6:55:46 PM org.apache.cxf.endpoint.ServerImpl initDestination
    INFO: Setting the server's publish address to be /marketplace
    The command i'm using is:
    Kitchen.bat /file:"C:\development\projects\PDI_JOBS\LoadFile.kjb"
    I have windows 10, 64x, and using pdi last version 8.0.0.0-28.

    I've tried:
    • Changing -Xmx2048m do -Xmx1024m
    • Changing the slash of the path of the file "\" to "/"
    • Deleting the karaf cache
    • I even downloaded the pdi-ce-8.0.0.0-28.zip again and retried.

    I'm out of ideas.

    Thanks in advance.

    Just for giggles... try the command:
    Code:
    Kitchen.bat "/file:C:\development\projects\PDI_JOBS\LoadFile.kjb"
    Note the movement of the quotes.

    Thanks for you reply, but it didn't work.

    I'm trying a different thing now, since the last line it prints "INFO: Setting the server's publish address to be /marketplace" perhaps it can't connect to the marketplace. That makes sense since I'm working behind a proxy and I never connected to the marketplace in Spoon.

    It's possible to ignore this step?

    UPDATE:
    I've found out how to ignore the marketplace step (in data-integration\system\karaf\etc-kitchen\org.pentaho.features.cfg, deleting the marketplace runtimeFeature), but now it stops in the previous step,

    INFO: Setting the server's publish address to be /i18n

    Back to square one.

    If something isn't behaving as expected, I suggest putting some log steps between your jobs and inside transformations.

    Just log a sequence, for example "Debug 1", "Debug 2"... etc. This way you can see between which two log outputs it stops/fails. Then you can narrow it down by moving the debug log steps closer and closer to each other. I usually set the log level for "ERROR" on these types of debug logs, in case you forget to change the debug level when executing.

    Thanks for your reply.

    The problem is that my job isn't even loaded. This is happening in the boot up of Kitchen, before the job is loaded. I can't even run the default samples.

    And using Spoon, the job works fine.

    Using Kitchen no error is shown, no exceptions... Just stops the process without message.

    And with a new install you get the same problem or did you change something in the spoon.bat or kitchen.bat?

    Clean install and problem solved! Thanks a lot for your suggestion! Now I'm trying to figure out what I've done that broke the Kitchen.bat

    Thanks once again!

    EDIT:
    Just found out what was causing this issue. My colleague was dynamically adding the following properties:

    KETTLE_REDIRECT_STDERR=Y
    KETTLE_REDIRECT_STDOUT=Y
    KETTLE_DISABLE_CONSOLE_LOGGING=Y
    Into the <KETTLE_HOME>/.kettle/kettle.properties.

    Now he will be fired (just kidding ).
