Default Kettle 8.2: Database lookup error with sqlserver

    Hi,

I recently updated Kettle from 7.1 to 8.2.

With 7.1 I had not problem.

With 8.2 version, in Database lookup step with sql server (2008 R2) I have this error message:

Please set a value for the missing field(s) type.

This message occour with Date (Datetime in sql server) data type.

If I use table input and stream lookup I have no problem.

    Can you help me?

    2019/02/21 09:47:32 - Database lookup.0 - ERROR (version 8.2.0.0-342, build 8.2.0.0-342 from 2018-11-14 10.30.55 by buildguy) : A causa di un errore questo passo non può continuare:
    2019/02/21 09:47:32 - Database lookup.0 - Please set a value for the missing field(s) type.

    Thank you!

    A.

    Just to add information:
If I try to get lookup fields, datetime field are filled with "none" type.

I downloaded 8.1 PDI and it works! I think there is a bug...

    Thank you

You downgraded from 8.2 to 8.1 because of a bug? I've heard others upgrade from 8.1 to 8.2 because of bugs...

I'm still on 5.4, not sure if there's anything to gain by updating.

Yep, 8.1 had some nasty bugs, so beware for some other unpleasant surprises, maybe downgrading 8.0 would be safer if 8.2 has that bug stopping you.

Yes, technically it's called rollback, specially in test environment.

Of course... perhaps I could use win 2000 on my pc, but maybe some new and useful stuff may not work

    Thanks for your useful comment!

Thanks Ana, at the moment 8.1 version seems to be stable in our test environment!
