    Default Julian's feedback

A few things it would be good to fix in the scraper, if they're not difficult:

    Gretchen,

I'd like to test the emailing functionality: (a) post to a forum at forums.pentaho.org and see if I get an email, and (b) send an email and see whether it appears in the forum. Should I be able to do that? Which email address should I send to to post to the forum?

Can you add an FAQ: "Can I subscribe to get an email each time someone posts to a particular forum?". I couldn't figure out the answer to this one - and it's the way that a lot of people interact with the SF.net forums.

Again re. the mailing lists. I don't think we've explicitly said that the mondrian-devel@lists.sourceforge.net and mondrian-users@lists.sourceforge.net mailing lists are being discontinued. If that's the plan, I think we should explicitly say so.

    Default Resolutions

Preserve double line-endings. For example, compare https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1604570&forum_id=111376 with http://forums.pentaho.org/showthread.php?t=24270&goto=nextnewest. The original is significantly more readable because people put breaks between paragraphs.
I'm looking into this Julian, not sure at what stage those are being stripped out. I'll have to follow the data through an extraction and import to find it.

Preserve posters' names and join-date. The name appears both in the posting (e.g. iridaus) and on the users page, e.g. https://sourceforge.net/users/iride-75.
Correct posters' join date. All users are currently shown as members since Nov 99. The join date appears on the users page, e.g. https://sourceforge.net/users/iride-75.
The names are exportable from our source systems, but unfortunately, they are not importable into the vBulletin forums. The name fields in vBulletin are added custom, and the vBulletin importer knows nothing about those fields.

I shouldn't say they absolutely aren't, because we have already proven we can import just about anything with enough time and coding. I just dont think I'm going to have the time to address it.

I will encourage our community members to update their profile as soon as they start using the new system. I will also post a not to the FAQ that this information is lost.

The join date is a different beast. We just need to add the code to the scraper to grab the join date, and I can see where that data is important. Hopefully I will have a chance to code this in.

We have another thread that details the mailing list testing at http://forums.pentaho.org/showthread.php?t=25572 .

    done.

    Default Including join date...

I've modified the scripts to pick up the join date for Mondrian community members now.
