hallo all German Pentaho memebers,

as one of the first German members of the Pentaho tribe it is my aim of me and my partner to translate Pentaho into German.

Both we have a long record track in use common BI solutions like Cognos or Business Objects. Also we concentrate now on our main focus web services and the connection with the "old" world.

ich habe mir Pentaho BI Platform (Pre-Configured Installation) runtergeladen, installiert und mir die Beispiele angeschaut.
Möchte aber jetzt eigene Daten eingeben, wie oder wo kann ich das tun?

Was meinst du mit Daten eingeben. Willst du das Projekt übersetzen oder eigenen Lösungen für Pentaho erzeugen??

Ich hab von einer Firma ihre Erlös-, Umsatz- und Kostenzahlen und möchte mal diese in Pentaho eingeben, um Diagramme usw. Analysen anzustellen. Kann man das tun? Hab diesbezügl. einfach noch große Schwierigkeiten.

Hallo Tommy,

Du kannst nicht einfach Daten in Pentaho eingeben,wie u es vielleicht aus einer Tabellenkalkulation kennst, sondern Pentaho greift mit seinen Komponenten auf Datenquellen zu, z.B. auf Datenbanken.

Die Demoversion nutzt eine mitgelieferte Dtenbank, die Du nach dem Start der Demoversion mit einem JDBC-Datenbankclient ansprechen kannst und so z.B. eigene Tabellen erstellst und mit Deinen Daten befüllst.

Dann kannst Du auf dieser Datenbasis Berichte bauen und Diagramme erstellen. Vielleicht fängst Du erst mal mit dem Reportdesigener oder dem Report Design Wizzard an.

Du kannst natürlich auch Pentaho so konfigurieren, dass es andere Datenquellen nutzt. Vielleicht solltest Du Dir mal die Pentaho Whitepaper und Dokus ansehen, damit Du ein Verständnis für die grundlegende Funktionsweise und Architektur bekommst.
