Default Where does JNDI get data from?

    Hi,

I have taking a look to the samples in pentaho_demo and I have some doubts about the data sources with JNDI connection. I was executing some report samples and they run correctly but I don't know where are the result data from for a JNDI connection.

Please, I need to know where is the data that specifies JNDI connection and if it's posible somebody tells me a detailed explanation.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

For starters, I think you need a little background on JNDI. Using Google for JNDI reveals this link:

    http://java.sun.com/products/jndi/overview.html

Secondly, where JNDI data sources get defined is application server dependant. That is, for Tomcat, you specify JNDI information in the server.xml. For JBoss, there are data source XML documents and resource definitions that have to be defined.

I suggest you look at the Creating Solutions guide for additional information:

    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/p...ions_1.1.5.pdf

Look at the section entitled "Integrating your own reports" beginning on page 16.

    I hope this helps,

    Marc
