    Default behaviour of database explorer

I'm "wondering" what the intended behaviour of the "database explorer" in KETTLE is (e.g. when you press the "Get SQL select statement" in a table input step.

In the resulting "tree" you get 4 leafs: Schema's, Tables, Views, Synonyms...

Schema's seems to contain everything, and if I select it it will be selected in form "Schema.object", which is ok.

If I select something from Tables the name gets used but without schema... so if I'm not the schema owner, I get errors later on.

If I select anything from Views/Synonyms the name gets prepended by Views or Synonyms which results in errors later on.

I assume all 4 cases would need to be prepended by the correct schema? I can probably change in the code.

    Regards,
    Sven

Default RE: behaviour of database explorer

    Hallo Sven,

You are correct, the safe bet would be to include the schema or catalog.

Even better, because you are now internal developer of Kettle, you CAN indeed change the code ;-)

    Thanks in advance!

    Allerbeste groeten,

    Matt
