Unhappy JNDI SQL Server Connection Issues

    Hi,

I have tried using com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver with the following connection string but failed:

    Connect String: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433
    Username: sa
    Password: (blank)

After that I tried the following:
    Connect String: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databasename=northwind
    Username: sa
    Password: (blank)

Still failed. Then I tried this:

In ODBC, I created a System DSN called 'Northwind' connecting to Northwind SQL database. At JNDI, I entered these:

    Driver: sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
    Connect String: jdbcdbc:Northwind
    Username: sa
    Password: (blank)

Connection success. Then all the button labels suddenly become empty. However, I still able to figure out which one is a 'Next' button and I click 'Next'. When I clicked on the 'Preview' tab, I get this error:

    java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Line 2: Incorrect syntax near '<'.

How can I get this resolve? Thanks.

    Regards,
    Antonio

    Default Try this...

    Hi, that happened to me...
just try run your cube designer in this way...

    C:\pentaho\CubeDesigner>CubeDesigner.exe -vm c:\Java\jre1.5.0_11\bin\javaw.exe

you can use jdk or jre...
after that the conection was succeful with my oracle driver... maybe it works for you too... just be sure to put your jar libraries in CubeDesinger\lib\jdbc directory...
