    Default Problem with Parsing Excel

    Hi All,
We have a requirement where we need to parse an excel sheet with a footer at bottom. The footer has a total of all above columns in sheet. We need to use this total value for some validation
Is there any way to parse such an excel sheet using kettle?
Please reply back with valuable suggestions...

    thnx in advance,

Just use an excel input step followed by a filter step on column b for Totals. The row that gets through is your total row. If you want to join it then with the other rows you can read your Excel again and join the total row with a cartesian join e.g to the normal rows.

Qua validation, I don't know what you want (there have been several similar threads the last days)... Kettle is more row based, you can't pick cells "at random" in an excel sheet without jumping through a lot of hoops.

    Regards,
    Sven
