Default [Mondrian] Re: Mondrian's transition from sourceforge.net

I will find a way to make the mailing list work for the Mondrian community.

I am not completely sure I understand the way the old list worked or even
how this one does. I just subscribed to both the regular mode and digest
mode to get familiar and to see how you are using it.

Forgive me if I am a little slow. Are you saying that you want to get one
email for each post or you want one daily email with the full body of each
    post for that day?

I have no doubt that we can figure something out either way or have both as
an option. If you had any other ideas that would help make your experience
more productive, please let me know.

I'll report back when I have answers. In the mean time I will "walk in your
    shoes" for a while.

    Thanks,
    Doug

I would also really like a full single-message daily digest. Having to
click through the links is a lot of work, so I end up not participating
    there.

This mailing list is working fine; mailman allows proper batching with
the full body of each message (no links).

It's the forum posts that I was referring to (not the mailing list).
See below for a snippet. The only way to read each post is to click
    each thread link.

    Doug,

Like John already said, the mailing lists are working fine. I was
    referring to the
    forum posts.

I think both proposals have benefits. But the main thing is : I would
like the full message (not just the header)
    in my mail box.

    1) One mail for each post : if it is possible to reply to the forum post
using email, otherwise, don't bother, since my email client will pop up
every 2 seconds with new mail messages...

    2) Full messages in one daily digest : If reply by email is not
possible, yes this one gives most usability and less mail garbage...

I think if prefer option 2) for now. Maybe it should be configurable?

    Thanks,
    Bart

We found the place in vBulletin where the digest is created and sent out.
We should be able to change the behavior. I created a JIRA (case tracking
system) case INTERNAL-739 to address this issue. We should have something
to roll out in a week or so. I'll keep you posted.
