    Default database connection

    Hi,

I would like to connect to my oracle database 10g. Based on forum that I have viewed, they suggested to use OCI as the Method of Access. I have copied the ocjdbc14 to libext dir and ocijdbc.dll to win32 dir and unfortunately, I received error below:

Error connecting to database [ora] : be.ibridge.kettle.core.exception.KettleDatabaseException:
Error occured while trying to connect to the database

Error connecting to database: (using class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver)
    t2cCreateState

    be.ibridge.kettle.core.exception.KettleDatabaseException:
Error occured while trying to connect to the database

Error connecting to database: (using class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver)
    t2cCreateState

    Please advice.

    Thanks in advance

OCI is a waste, we already have JDBC drivers. The only reason for using it is in corporations running an Oracle naming service. Even then...

If you insist on using OCI and the associated Oracle Net8 client () please make sure your installed Oracle Client matches the JDBC driver installed.
The version is somehow hardcoded in the Oracle JDBC driver.
