    Red face Setting up Mondrian for a whole different database

    I'm trying to completely customize Mondrian so that it analyzes the data of a PostgreSQL database which I have created, not the FoodMart example. I tried changing the connection strings in web.xml and all the other files in the queries folder, but that did not work. I'm sure there is more to it but I dunno what it is.

    Can anyone please help me with this?

    Default Check URLs and directory paths

    I have some problems too, but my database is MySQL. Mondrian package is set up to work with Tomcat so if you are using a different server you should check the directory path in all your files
    I had to customize the URL in datasources.xml to match my directory path as well as the Catalogs in the web.xml and the other four .jsp files.

    I hope this helps, it worked for me. good luck

    Default More details

    Yes I've done all that, but I'm not sure it's all correct. I followed the instructions in the documentations but I'm still not able to connect to Tomcat. Can you tell me that exact format for the connection strings that I have to change, given that I'm using PosgreSQL.

    Default Check url's and catalog name

    in your files:
    Jdbc='jdbcostgresql://localhost/foodmart'
    JdbcDriver=org.postgresql.Driver;

    I also have the port for MySQL in all my Jdbc properties:
    jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/foodmart;
    JdbcUser='your_user'; JdbcPassword='your_password';

    The <URL> in datasources.xml comes with http://localhost:8888/mondrian/...
    I changed to localhost:8080/...

    You should also have in your Catalog property 'your_schema.xml'

    BTW, did it work with the foodmart examples?
    What errors do you have?

    Hope this helps, good luck
