Default Using Kettle within a software stack

    Hi All

We have a requirement for a data integration/ETL engine within a larger application stack we are building for a customer. The stack is based on OSS technologies such as Lnux, JBoss AS, JBPM, Rules engine. One of the requirement is to use something similar to Kettle that can provide the service implementation for data integration and the behavious can be exposed to rest of the application.

    My questions are:

Is kettle "embeddable" as an ETL engine but part of a larger software system?
Are there any previous similar examples when this was done?

    Some early thoughts much appreciated.

    Regards
    Shubham

    Hi,

the Pentaho-Plattform is an example on how to embed Kettle within a bigger software stack. Just have a look at the KettleComponent in the Pentaho-Sources to see how it is done there.

    Have fun,
