In kettle batch files, it is not easy to add more options without changing
the batch file itself. If you want to add environment variables, you have to
modify the batch file itself.

Tomcat for example provide a JAVA_OPTS variable that you can use to add more
java variables when you launch catalina. This variable is quite the same as
the OPT variable in kettle but there is one subtle difference.
In kettle batch files we do :
set OPT=-Xmx512M ...
in catalina batch file they do
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xmx512M ...

maybe we can modify the OPT variable, call it KETTLE_OPTS and do

thus the user can define some more options without changing the batch file.

What do you think about that ?
