Thread: SFTP bug

    Default SFTP bug

I have been investigating a bug we have with the sftp task. Despite
proper user/pass, we keep getting "Auth Fail".
I narrowed down the bug to
    config.put("StrictHostKeyChecking", "no"); in SFTPClient
I think the sftp needs to properly handle host keys and that means ask
the user if he/she accepts a server key and add jsch will add it to
known hosts. That is not difficult to implement, the only trick would
be to have a unified class which detect whetever the gui is there, if
yes show a swt dialog or else just a terminal prompt. Any ideas on how
    to do that?
It shouldn't be difficult to keep the backward compatibility, any
objections to add such feature to the 2.5 branch as well?

    Default RE: SFTP bug

On top of the SFTP task, the apache-VFS SFTP support also lacks this
    functionality.

    The apache-VFS library by-default uses StrictHostKeyChecking-yes, and
there is no dialog/callback regarding keys. One approach is to
establish the keys through normal SSH before using the VFS approach --
however, this only works on that specific system and then only for the
    pre-called systems.

Since both scenarios may need to support server key(s), that should be a
    consideration.
