Default How to retrieve user executing a transform or job?

    Hi everybody,

is there a way to retrieve the user who is executing and running a job or transform and store this information in a field?

I was looking for such a feature but couldn't find it - neither in the environment variables nor in the step "Get System Info".

    Thanks in advance,

    Ben

    Example in javascript attached.

'user.name' in get variables step should also do the trick.

Sorry, I didn't make myself quite clear...

The information I was looking for is the user connected to the repository and running the job.

user.name only returns the name of the user connected to the OS...

    any idea?

For the repository, no not that I'm aware of right now. Also you can very well get a job from the repository and run it outside of the repository.

And would you have wanted to know the kettle user running a transformation, or the database user behind the kettle connection ;-)

    Regards,
    Sven
