Default Tips to gets your fields in the step after a Merge Join in 2.5

    Hi,

In 2.5 it's not possible to get the fields in the step following a Merge Join. Same with Show Output Fields.

    I've find a solution.
Delete the Step names in the 2 text box "First Step" and "Second Step".
If you do that, the fields will be visible/avaible in the stream after the Merge Join.

You can try this in the Sample "Merge Join - Join 2 sorted data sets.ktr"

Default I´ve tried but didn´t work

Hi, I´m still with the same problem, and I´ve tried your solution, but it doesn´t work. I just left empty both fields. What else can I do??

Which version of PDI do you run, I tried the work around on 2.5GA against the sample transformation in the original post and it works for me.

Leaving both fields empty is working for me too...

One additional question: what's the use of these fields then actually and has does not filling them any side effects (incorrect results, performance, etc.) ?

    Thx,
    Ben

You should fill them before really executing the transformation, or you will not get much output.

Default I had the good one

I´m using "the good version" 2.5.0 build version 25002.

I left empty both fields but it still doesn´t work.

I really don´t know what else I can do......

Well... the workaround seems to work for everyone except you... I don't know. Did you try it with the example from the samples directory?

Maybe something is wrong with your transformation even before you hit the merge join.

    Regards,
    Sven
