    Question Concatenating strings

    Hi,

I have a filename which includes a 6 character string YYMMDD. I currently can get the YYMMDD into a string but have been unsuccesful in using str2dat to get it into a date.

So have tried to break the string up and then put it back into a format that I think works, for example YY/MM/DD unfortunately I can't seem to concatenate strings using the Javascript step.

Can anyone help me in this?

    Thanks

    Clemo

With javascript concatenating strings should work... in the FAQ are some examples, also in the sample transformations in your kettle installation.

The locale is normally the locale of your system

    Regards,
