    Default Snowflake Schema / Cube Designer??

    Hi,

    I have a Problem with Snowflake Schema.

    My fact table and Dimensions: (FK...Foreign key; PK...Primary key)

    Fact --> Year --> Month --> Day
    --------- --------- ------------ --------------
    FK_year_id PK_year PK_month PK_day
    Amount year month day
    FK_month FK_day

    My second Dimension is Product.

    Is this a correct schema?

    I used Cube Designer and test them but i get an Pivot Component Error.

    ...
    <Dimension name="Year" foreignKey="FK_year_id">
    <hierarchy name "Year" ......... primaryKey="PK_year">
    <Join leftKey="FK_month" rightAlias="Month" rightKey="PK_month">
    <table name="year"/>
    <Join leftKey="fk_day" rightKey=PK_day">
    <Table name=month"/>
    <TAble name="day"/>
    </join>
    </join>
    <level name ="year"....../>
    <level name ="month"....../>
    <level name ="day"....../>
    </Hierarchy>
    ...

    Can anybody help me?
    how many Join can i use?

    regards Gemelos

    Could you post the error you receive in the log file and also the version of Mondrian you are using? This may be a bug.

    Thanks,

    Will

    EDIT: I just saw your post in another thread, I'm glad to hear you got it working!

    Hi,

    I have a problem designing a snowflake schema in cube designer.

    With the following design, no XML is generated :

    I've created this JIRA case so we can track this issue:

    Hi,

    The workaround is to edit the xml manually. See sample below (written (and tested) from the doc, levels added), ask for more :
    Code:
    <Schema name="my_schema_name">
        <Cube name="my_cube_name">
            <Table name="t_my_fact_table"/>
            <Dimension name="my_dimension" foreignKey="id_product">
                <Hierarchy name="my_hierarchy" hasAll="true" allMemberName="my_all_level" primaryKey="attr_id_product" primaryKeyTable="t_my_product_table">
                    <Join leftKey="attr_id_product_family" rightKey="attr_id_product_family">
                        <Table name="t_my_product_table"/>
                        <Table name="t_my_family_product_table"/>
                    </Join>
                    <Level name="my_product_family_level" table="t_my_product_family_table" column="attr_family_name" uniqueMembers="false"/>
                    <Level name="my_product_level" table="t_my_product_table" column="attr_product_name" uniqueMembers="true"/>
                </Hierarchy>
            </Dimension>
            <Measure name="SUM of t_my_fact_table.attr_quantity" column="attr_quantite" aggregator="sum" datatype="Integer" formatString="0"/>
        </Cube>
    </Schema>
    a+, =)
