    Default Why is DatabaseMetaData not used?

    The table exists step currently fails on Teradata because reading a row it messes around with timestamp date conversion (different issue may report that in the future).

    While debugging I discovered that DatabaseMetaData is not used to get available tables etc. Is this intentionally.

    I temporarily fixed this by overriding getSQLTableExists in the Teradata meta informations

    @Override
    public String getSQLTableExists(String tablename)
    {
    return "show table " + tablename;
    }

    since show table is much faster than retrieving data. However, I think in the long run the official JDBC call should be used. Would be willing to supply a patch if there is interest.

    Regards

    Felix
