Thumbs up Question on Executing Job(s) from a File

    Hi All,

Again ... thanks for All of the Hard Work put into this great product!

    I appreciate your efforts.

My question pertains to an issue when running a pretty intensive job against a
development server which is by no means at production horsepower etc. I keep getting errors about not being able to load a transformation as there was an issue connecting to the Oracle 10g db which we are storing the repository in.

To prove that it is indeed the db or machine that is hosting that db's problem I would like to try and run the complete job from a file.

I'm not sure but I'm thinking I could export the repository to an xml file via the Respository Explorer and use that file with Kitchen to run my job.

    Will this work?

If not what is the best practice for making sure that everything is in the file that you point kitchen at in order to run a job?

For the kind of exports you want automatically I see something happening in Pentaho, but it's not in 2.5 and not currently in 3.0

Export the jobs/transformations you need, and then manually adjust the paths to subjobs/subtransformations.
