Thread: .kettle directory

    Default .kettle directory

    Hi there,
I understand that there's a .kettle directory containing some setting files such as kettle.properties and share.xml, etc under windows user directory.
I am now having concern about how I can use the same .kettle directory for different users on the same machine.

I would like to see if there are any ways to fix the same Kettle installation pointing to the .kettle directory (using the same kettle.properties & share.xml files) regardless of who logs into windows.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

    Default

In 2.5 it's an option to the java part, windows environment variable "%KETTLE_HOME%" is used if it's defined. So it's either defining that variable on all systems people logon to, or locally tweak the spoon.bat file

Only use it like that on personal pc's, if you can logon with multiple people on 1 windows server you will get into trouble if they all use the same directory.

    Regards,
    Sven
