Default Cube is not displayed through browser.

    Hi All,

I am new to Pentaho Cube Designer.
I downloaded pentaho-demo, design studio, cube designer.
I configured all the above and now the pentaho server is up.
I created my first cube and published successfully as specified in the documentation. When i try to view my cube nothing is shown, a message is displayed.
    "Quadrant Headcount Actual and Budget
This page cannot be accessed directly. It must be linked to from other pages."

How can i view my cube from browser.

Do I need to download Mondrian and workaround on it?

Any help or steps to be followed.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    sunny.

    Consider your cube as mis-conceived.
Multiple errors can provoke this error such as using space in names

Default Use of Mondrian in designing a cube.

    Hi Clement,

Ok my cube is working fine.
What is the purpose of Mondrian in Cube Design I am bit confused?
I have not installed Mondrian in my system.
I started Pentaho server and desinged cube.
Can you clarify on this which one to use.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Sunny.

Mondrian is the OLAP engine on which cubes designed with cube designer lie on. It is integrated in Pentaho demo. You may download http://dfn.dl.sourceforge.net/source...2.4.2.9831.zip
and open \mondrian-2.4.2.9831\doc\index.html for further informations.

    Hi Clement,

    Ok.
Since i already downloaded pentaho demo and configured, my understanding is that there is no need for me to install Mondrian again?

    Thanks & Regards,
    sunny.

You're right. Navigate to \pentaho-demo\pentaho-solutions\system directory to see mondrian. But you must download tools like CubeDesigner (create a cube) and Workbench (edit a cube).

    Hi Clement,

But i didn't see Mondrian in my system \pentaho-demo\pentaho-solutions\system\
    I am using Pentaho-demo-1.2.1.625-GA.
Since mondrian is not there in the above specified path do i need to install mondrian? But i can able to create & run cubes.
What is the URL for downloading Workbench.

    Thanks & Regards,
    sunny.

Sorry, it is under 1.6.RC2 system directory, not 1.2.1.GA. In my opinion, as soon as you can run a jpivot table (and the demo directory "sample analysis" does it) you do not have to install mondrian. Workbench is here : (sourceforge.net/search mondrian)
