Default Use and support of javascript in 3.0

    Hi everybody,

when designing transformations, should one use Javascript or Modified JavaScript? What would you recommend?

Will the "old" javascript step still be supported in 3.0 (if not, will be it deprecated or just not included?)

Concerning API calls in Javascript, will there be (major) differences compared to 2.5.x?

Where could one find the latest API documentation? I found one here but I'm not sure if it's up-to-date.

    Thx in advance,
    Ben

The "old" javascript step is no longer included in 3.0.
There was no use for it anymore since we had to give the new one a compatibility mode anyway.
Please note that existing transformations will also revert to the new "mod" step.

API calls are bound to give you trouble since the API of 3.0 differs substantially from 2.5.x.

For the 3.0 API download/extract the source code and run "ant javadoc".

    HTH,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

    thanks for the quick reply.

In 2.5.1 the "old" javascript step supports error handling which the modified step does not.

Will this feature be added to the modified javascript step in 3.0?

    Regards,
    Ben
