Default Looking at product and have a few questions

    Hi,

We are looking around for a replacement for SSIS and have a few questions about this product and if it would meet are needs.

    1) Does it have a small footprint? Are product needs primarily to process both small amounts of data throughout the day as well as large amounts of data in a nightly run. SSIS has too large a footprint in order to do the processing of small amounts of data. How is Kettle at handling this.

    2) The ongoing daily processing needs to be quick and needs to run with many other concurrent ETL processing. Many users doing the same kind of processing on their particular data set all concurrrent. How does Kettle measure up to this type of concurrency.

    3) Distributed transaction support. multiple databases being utilized accross multiple servers.

    4) Support for SqlServer

    5) Support for XML data source.

    Thanks

Processing starts pretty quickly if that's what you mean.

    sure

    no

    4) Support for SqlServer
    yes

    5) Support for XML data source.
Yes, but not all kinds... just like most other ETL tools... the XML must be able to be converted to something rowish.

Try for yourself. You can download it and evaluate it

    Sven
