Default problem with Access Input & Oracle Output

    Hello all,

I've got a big Problem with a simple transformation.
I only want to get the data from an access source with a table input step and put it to an oracle table with a table output step.

The first minute it works fine, I got 800r/s. But after 50000 rows the rows per second goes continously down and after 150sec Kettle isn't reacting anymore and nothing happens. The I have to start Kettle again.

The Access source has about 400.000 rows. I set the rows in rowset to
100000 and the commitsize to 10000.

At the beginning of the transformation I get this error

    2007/10/01 11:11:59 - Table input 4.0 - Starting to run...
    2007/10/01 11:12:00 - Table input 4.0 - Unexpected error in 'be.ibridge.kettle.core.exception.KettleDatabaseException:

    But the transformation started anyway.
Does anybody has an idea how to fix this problem? I appreciate every help.

    Thanks a lot

Have a look at the following to switch on tracing: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/274551
And a have a look at the following for one of the many possible errors: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294149 ... so far starters can you switch off ODBC Pooling.

Thank you Sven, for your replay. Your suggestions didn't work on my problem. I did some further tests and in the end the transformation works when I put a dummy step between the table input and the table output.
I don't understand it, but it works.

strange... whether you put a dummy step in between or not shouldn't matter... it's not DataStage

Yes, it's strange and it's not a real solution. I have similar errors with other steps.
I made a little transformation. It creats 1.000.000 rows and tries to write it into an access database. As described before it starts with over 2000 r/s and after writing 50000 rows, no rows are transfered but the transformation doesn't stop.

Can you please have a look at it.

    Thank you

Make a JIRA request for http://jira.pentaho.org/browse/JIRA
