Default CTRL+Space is bugged when upgrading from 2.5.1 to 3.0

I just ran into a strange error. I upgraded an existing 2.5.1 repository using 3.0 RC1. Everything looks fine until I open an existing object and try to insert a variable into a input field which supports the CTRL+Space shortcut:

I can't insert any variable but three internal job variables. All other variables (especially those provided by kettle.properties) are gone.

However, if I design a new object, CTRL+Space works as intended and all my variables are visible.

I tried upgrading by using the "create or upgrade" and by creating a new 3.0 repository and import the 2.5 repository using a XML file. Both ways lead to the same result: no CTRL+Space insert possible.

Tested with 3.0 RC1 and the preview of RC2 as well.

Matt or Sven, could please try to reproduce this issue or give any hints how to avoid it?

    Thx in advance,
    Ben

    Hi Ben,

Thanks for detecting this problem. We'll fix it for sure.
Can I ask you why you don't file bug reports for these issues?
I almost overlooked this forum post as there are hundreds of posts each week!
That would have been a shame.

    All the best,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

thx for the reply. I usually file bug reports in JIRA but I wanted to make sure that this one is really a bug...

Sometimes I'm a bit too ambitious in creating bug reports I guess

    Nevertheless, here it is: http://jira.pentaho.org/browse/PDI-334

    Regards,
    Ben

Benjamin, would it be possible to please reply to the question posed in the bug report?
Otherwise I'm going to close it as "Unable to reproduce" ;-)

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

sorry for the delay in replying to your comments

I added a few comments to your remarks. I'll send you my repository export via email so you will be (hopefully) able to reproduce it.

    Thx again,
    Ben
