Thread: you don't have permissions to run Spoon and Chef"

Default you don't have permissions to run Spoon and Chef"

Downloaded latest build of Kettle 2.5.1 and can't seem to login under the admin id under Windows XP. Message I receive is "Sorry you don't have permissions to run Spoon and Chef". I can see the repository has been built successfully in SQL Server 2005 and that the guest and admin ID's are there in the R_USER table.

What can I do to fix this issue as this is stopping us being able to use the product.

    Thanks for your help

    Forget about repository at first.

    - Unzip the distribution file keeping directory structure
    - On windows execute spoon.bat in the main directory
    - On the start screen select "no repository"

    Do you get in then?

If you want to do repositories... a hint... admin/admin

    Regards,

    Unhappy Same problem

I'm having the same problem. Our company already have configured the repository and works just finned. The problem we have is with the profiles. When we assign to a user the profile "Read only", when they try to log in, get the message error "You don't have permissions to run Spoon and Chef". When we assign the profile "User", they can log in with no problem. The users connect to the repository using Windows XP.

The profile "Read only" has assign only the "Read only access" permission.

We are using Kettle - Spoon version 3.2.0-RC1
