Default Performance problem with LDAP security in PropertiesEditor

I have configured security to go to our corporate Active Directory server.
    Root is dc=cmceu,DC=company,DC=ad
    At this level you have
OU=Authentication services,DC=Pentaho (below are the group definitions)
OU=Belgium,OU=division_X (below are the users & other groups)
OU=France,OU=division_X (below are the users & other groups)
OU=Germany,OU=division_X (below are the users & other groups)
OU=Other countries,OU=division_X (below are the users & other groups)

When you go in the properties editor it fetches all role and users.
Getting the roles if fast as i defined it to look into "OU=Authentication services,DC=Pentaho"
Getting the users is slow (15 seconds to get 60 users in OU=Belgium) as the start is at the root level and it has to search all objects below the root.

On top of that each time you click on item in the solution repository tree, it contacts the LDAP server again to get the same information. There is no caching!!!!!!!!

What can be done to get the speed acceptable??????????

It is recommended that users not be fetched at all in the permissions interface. (Instead, assign permissions using groups (aka roles) only.) To disable the user search, consult Disabling User Search in Permissions Interface.

I do agree that you should use groups (roles) to assign permissions. You will uses this for 99% of your permission assignment. BUT ... sometimes, you have no other option than to use user based permissions to do that specific thing.
